The village of Al-Qasr is little changed from medieval
times. It has a population of around 700 persons.
The city was reconstructed from the roman ruins. This village
have 54 lintels, some of them dating from the Ottoman and Mamluk era
which decorate the old houses. Also some of them are from the 924
AD.
There is a mosque. The local school has been renew, the same as
an old house that are open to tourists.
Other interesting places are a pottery factory and an old corn
mill. The mud bricks are still made in an ancient manner and there
is a foundry where men still work mettle using bellows flamed
fires. |
