Kom Ushim: ruins of Karanis

This temple was discover in the age of Tolomeo II. Karamis was build around a temple dedicated to the God Petesuchos. Although is in ruins, you can see rests of swimming pools of the Romans baths.

Pyramid of Amenemhat III

Tebtunis

Tebtunis was build in the 22nd Dynasty. There is little left of this complex because there are areas that are covered by the sand. Near this place you can also see the remains of a Roman aqueduct.

Temple of Narmuthis

This temple was build by Amenemhet III and dedicated to the Gods Sobek, Ernutel and Horus. The inside walls of the temple are covered with hieroglyphics. From the archaeological point of view this temple is consider the most interesting from Fayoum.

Lake Qarun

Ain as-Siliyiineir

Ain as-Siliyiineir is one of the biggest areas of spring waters of the area. The water is sweet and contains titanium, that is said that is good to prevent the stereo sclerosis.

Karanis Museum

Many of the objects found in the region of Fayoum are in this museum, also you could see vases, glassware, females heads which are thought to have been used to model hairstyles. Most of the mummies found in the area had portrait of the deceased painted on them.
